On the banks of the Magothy River, this hillside cottage was granted a transformation to ground the house into a natural setting appropriate for a steep waterfront site.  The client wished to implement a native garden that would resolve the erosion issues and attract pollinators that will inevitably benefit the surrounding region. The landscape architects designed a native seed mix that will give the garden four-seasons of interest. Near the cottage house, native shrub and perennial gardens surround an intimate usable lawn space.

This garden was completed in Fall 2022.  The meadow is anticipated to be fully established by its third to fourth year. Every season provides new plant material as the seeds from the seed mix germinate.
